Eric Krangel

Reuters' Second Life Journalist

Eric Krangel writes about virtual worlds under the byline "Eric Reuters" for the Reuters Second Life Bureau (secondlife.reuters.com), winner of the 2007 Knight-Batten "Innovation in Journalism" "Wild Card" award. In addition to chronicling the rise of Second Life and its competitors, Eric examines Internet-based youth subcultures, having written in depth about hackers, furries, and the open source movement. His work has appeared on Reuters and in the Chicago Tribune, Montreal Gazette, New York Sun, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Arizona Republic, St. Louis Post-Dispatch and numerous other publications throughout North America. Eric is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
