Ms. Salow has a great deal of experience in managing complex matters involving domestic and international privacy and data security laws. By way of example, Ms. Salow has: Ms. Salow has spent most of her career in private practice working in mid-sized and large firms. She also previously served as in-house counsel for a Fortune 50 corporation. In her role as Senior Director and Senior Counsel for Sprint Nextel Corporation, she handled a wide range of privacy, data security, mobile content and e-commerce matters. She represented the corporation before federal and state governmental agencies, including the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC), on matters involving privacy, e-commerce and wireless and Internet content. Ms. Salow testified before state Public Utilities Commissions, worked closely with state Attorneys General, drafted and negotiated state and federal privacy and e-commerce legislation, and submitted comments and pleadings in numerous FCC and FTC proceedings. Ms. Salow also worked closely with corporate marketing, IT and sales teams to structure consumer marketing campaigns and IT development initiatives in ways that were business-friendly, yet compliant with all applicable laws. In addition to her privacy, data security and e-commerce experience, Ms. Salow has a great deal of experience handling trademark and copyright matters. She has worked with members of Congress and Congressional staffers, White House officials, and federal agencies such as the Department of Commerce on a number of complex intellectual property policy matters, including the Anti-Counterfeiting Trademark Agreement (ACTA) treaty and anti-piracy legislation. She regularly advises clients on digital copyright issues. Earlier in her career, Ms. Salow managed large-scale corporate piracy and anti-cybersquatting programs, litigated domain name disputes under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP), prosecuted numerous trademark applications and defended multi-million dollar trademark litigation.
