Since 1994, Connections Media founder and Managing Partner Jonah Seiger has conceived and managed winning Interactive communications programs for some of America's most influential issue groups, Fortune 500 corporations, and candidates for federal, state and local office. Most recently, Jonah and his team at Connections Media have provided digital media strategy, design, and development services to Google, Starbucks Coffee Company, PepsiCo, The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, and New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg, among others. As Managing Partner, Jonah plays a hands-on role in Connections Media's client work.
Widely regarded as a pioneering Internet campaign strategist, Jonah has deep roots in the Internet world. He began his career in 1993 working on Internet-related policy issues with Congressman Edward J. Markey (D-MA) on the House Telecommunications Subcommittee.
In 1994, Jonah was a founder and served as Communications Director for the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT), a leading Internet policy and advocacy organization. While at CDT, he led some of the first online advocacy campaigns, including the precedent-setting "black page protest" of 1996. During that time, The New York Times described Jonah as "a trench warrior in the battle to democratize cyberspace," in reference to his role in the landmark Supreme Court decision establishing broad First Amendment protection for the Internet.
In 1997 Jonah co-founded Mindshare Internet Campaigns, and built the company into one of the country's leading providers of Internet services for public affairs. In 2001, he was recognized by the American Association of Political Consultants & Harvard University as "One to Watch" on its list of "The 25 Who Are Changing the World of Internet Politics." Jonah founded Connections Media in 2004.
Jonah serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Politics, Democracy and the Internet at the George Washington University, and serves on the boards of the New Democrat Network, the Media Access Project, and Academy of Hope, a Washington DC-based adult literacy center. An Adjunct Professor at the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management, Seiger teaches a course on political communications strategies for the Internet.
In his spare time, Jonah enjoys writing and recording music, exercise, cooking, and digital photography. Jonah holds a BA in Psychology and Studies in Religion from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. A native of Palo Alto, California, he resides in Washington, DC.
