Roger Sherman
U.S. House of Representatives Congressional Staff
Roger Sherman is currently the Democratic Chief Counsel, Communications and Technology, to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. During the 111th Congress (2009-2011), Mr. Sherman was Chief Counsel for Communications, Technology, and the Internet, and during the 110th Congress (2007-2009) he was Deputy Chief Counsel at the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. At the Oversight Committee Mr. Sherman worked on a variety of matters, including communications and technology issues and corporate oversight.
His previous Hill jobs include working for Representative Waxman as a legislative assistant from 1990-1992, a legislative aide to Senator Alan Cranston from 1989-1990, and a staff assistant to the Senate Labor Subcommittee from 1988-1989.
Prior to returning to Capitol Hill in 2007, Mr. Sherman spent 10 years as a Director of Regulatory Affairs and Senior Attorney at a wireless telecommunications company and two years in private practice at a D.C. law firm.
Mr. Sherman is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Amherst College.
