Demonstrators at the ICAC 2005 Kickoff
Overview | Demonstrators | Video
ComCARE Alliance
There is currently very limited capability for multiple agencies to share emergency data across jurisdictions during an emergency. This demonstration will show that by treating safety as an enterprise - using IP technology, standardized message sets and commonly published interfaces - a group of cross-jurisdictional government and emergency response agencies can effectively generate, receive, and update emergency messages in real-time. The demonstration will show some of the leading emergency response applications in use today, including a web-based geo-spatial directory of emergency agencies called the Emergency Provider Access Directory (EPAD), web-based mapping (GIS) systems, emergency management tools and other online applications. The demonstration will show the ability for these individual applications to share standardized information across platforms, thus enabling data interoperability for emergency response.

RSA Security & i-Mature
The U.S. Congress has recognized the need to find ways to protect children from inappropriate Web sites and chat rooms as well as online predators.
However, current technical methods that aim to enforce age restrictions fall short because they do not directly determine anything about the actual person who is attempting to access a site. They only infer the user's age based on possession of an item such as a credit card, driver's license, or user authentication token.
i-Mature, an Israeli-based company, has developed an innovative technology called Age Group Recognition that can determine online, in real time,
whether a user is a child or an adult and can more reliably enforce age
restrictions.
i-Mature does this with a compact device that performs a simple, non-invasive test, which determines a user's maturity stage by examining the status of his or her finger bone.
The demonstration will feature this device (see photo) and show how access to sites can be restricted based on the recognized age group.
RSA Laboratories, the research center of RSA Security, is advising i-Mature on the system's security architecture. The companies are also evaluating the potential integration of the Age Group Recognition into user authentication systems.
