American Library Association
The ALA display will serve two purposes:
1) It will showcase many of the efforts being made in libraries around the country in the name of Internet safety. We will also have informational bookmarks and pamphlets on hand.
2) It will give Members of Congress the opportunity to get in touch with the libraries in their districts in order to organize these town hall meetings. Libraries have long been trusted public spaces and, as providers of free public access to the Internet, they would be particularly appropriate for this subject.
